Zen Physio

'I have always found the machines to be very powerful and excellent value compared with others on the market.  Having carried out sports massage for many years, often working on very muscular and well-toned men, I was looking for a machine which would help me to reduce their muscle tension and loosen muscles prior to massage as beforehand it had quite often been very difficult to massage them due to their muscles being too tight.  The Zen Physio machine was easily able to assist in this process, making my job much easier and giving a better outcome as a result.

Another benefit I have found involved one of my clients who had a hamstring injury.  I used deep tissue massage together with the Zen Physio on the affected leg. After treatment she asked me to do the same to her other leg as she had noticed the first leg had become much slimmer.  Since that time I have used the machine to improve clients’ skin tone as well as reducing cellulite on hip/thigh areas.  Many of my clients now ask me to use the treatment to blast those areas which are affected by cellulite, or to help with their weight loss programme, and it has become a regular part of the treatments I offer, in combination with deep tissue sports massage.  The results have been truly fantastic, with one client reducing three dress sizes when combining treatment with an exercise programme. Another was so pleased she now has treatment before attending events such as weddings or holidays. One lady can now fit into boots she has not worn for five years.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Zen Physio to other therapists or people generally interested in toning up their bodies'

AREAS YOU CAN TREAT WITH THE ZEN PHYSIO:

  • Neck & Shoulders (trapezius and deltoid muscles)
  • Upper & Centre of Back (rhomboids and latissimus dorsi muscles)
  • Lower Back and Buttocks (erector spinae and gluteus muscles)
  • Thighs (quadriceps, abductors and hamstrings)
  • Calves (soleus and gastrocnemius muscles)
  • Arms (biceps, triceps & forearm muscles)
  • Soles of Feet

Our general advice is to use the single-headed massage heads for concentrating the massage on a smaller surface area, so they are ideal for massaging the back and other areas of muscular spasm and knots. Use the multi-headed massage heads if you want a general massage on a large muscle area, such as the thighs. There is no right or wrong though, just use whichever heads you prefer.

'For 15 years we have used a G5 for our mechanical massages as well as our hands with oil as a medium for deep tissue massage.  At last we have found a product which is smaller, lighter, easier to handle and indeed better for the patients for a fraction of the price.  From a patient point of view, the Zen achieves a good deep massage without the sensation of a heavy piece of equipment moving across the body and is useful for not only sports massage, but can also be used for deep tissue relaxation therapy.  We find it most effective for use on lower limbs to break down knotty / tight / scar tissue after an injury or the rigours of sporting activities.  However, it is also beneficial when used for massaging the entire spine and shoulders.  With an additional benefit by the clever use of infra red in the head of the massager, providing additional heat during the massage.

From a therapist’s point of view, it is basically “wonderful” to achieve a good deep massage using only a fraction of the physical effort.  The Zen achieves good depth with literally its own weight and requires no additional pressure from the operator... it is incredibly easy to use.   Well done and thank you for developing this great product'

Alan Young, (Physiotherapist), Holmfirth Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic

'I am a professional massage therapist and I therefore feel that I speak with some authority: I bought this as a way to stop my family asking me to treat their necks/backs/hips when I am relaxing in front of the telly after a hard day - with this massager they can treat themselves pretty well.

It is actually better than that though, delivering a really good percussive deep tissue massage that will be ideal for helping to treat large muscle masses such as the legs and buttocks and also areas that are tough on the hands such as the IT band. I will certainly find it useful when treating clients presenting with piriformis syndrome and would certainly recommend it for anyone needing remedial massage or as a supplement to massage treatments.

It is not suitable for anyone who wants a relaxing therapeutic massage as the action is too strong.  I think it's great and it will be a valuable addition to my practice'

Mrs P J Taylor, Massage Therapist

'This is by far my most popular and well received product, due to that "Ah, don't STOP" response!  Many of my clients love the Zen Physio Massager due to the deep tissue "release" it gives their tense and aching muscles.  In addition to relaxation, the gentle heating of the infra red lamp warms muscles and assists cellular regeneration.  The massager improves circulation, breaks down cellulite, and has proven a tremendous success in assisting sciatica and back pain.  It is even gorgeous under the feet, as a sort of reflexology tool!'

Mary-Lou Harris, Therapist

This is a great bit of kit if you have quite complex muscular needs.  This is a massager for you if you've had complex muscular problems for years (In my case it was my back). This is a massager for you if you have very deeply rooted muscle problems that affect your everyday life.  This is a massager for you if you have seen countless professionals and have got to the point where you are sick of never-ending visits to physio's and are looking for an alternative that you can try yourself at home. If you have seen professionals about your problem, you probably would have experienced similar pieces of equipment during these visits, which I think is a massive bonus because this massager is £69. The ones at the physio cost hundreds, sometimes thousands. That, in my eyes, makes it cost effective. And If similar massagers have worked for you on the clinicians bed, this may just help you in your own home. It certainly helps me. I honestly couldn't recommend it more. I think it's absolutely brilliant. My issue was with my back but I also use it on my feet and my legs. It's an investment in my eyes and has certainly saved me a few trips to the chiropractor.

How long should I use the machine for?

The Physio can be used continuously as it a professional massager, however, we advise you not to use the machine on your body for any more than 15

How do I change the massage heads?

  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. The massage heads do not have a ‘screw fitting’ so they don’t screw on and off.
  3. The two massage heads are on an oscillatiing plate, (like a see-saw), and it is easier to change the heads if you prevent it from moving. To do this you need to press the massage head you aren’t changing into the main head of the machine. This will lift up the massage head you want to change.
  4. You can then twist and pull the massage head, (don’t worry about applying as much force as is necessary as you can’t break the massage head). To replace a massage head all you need to do is push and twist it into position.
  5. You then repeat the process with the other massage head.
